Debora Lynn Harper

Debora Harper, 55, Roeland Park, Kansas, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 27, 2013.

Mrs. Harper was born July 28, 1957, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Jim and Patricia Grimshaw. She graduated from Broadview Academy in La Fox, Illinois, received her BSN degree from Union College, Lincoln, Nebraska, and earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Kansas.

Debora was employed with Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Wyandot Mental Health, and a ARNP/CNS Nurse Practitioner in private practice in Lenexa, Overland Park, and North Kansas City. She also visited nursing homes in Atchison and Gardner, Kansas. Debora was chaplain for the American Legion Auxiliary and American Legion Riders, Dwight Cowles American Legion Post 370, Overland Park, Kansas. She was a longtime choir member of Northland Cathedral and a congregant of Adat Yeshua.

Debora is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Grimshaw. Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Richard Harper; sister, Judy Johnson, Avon Park, Florida; brother, Jim Grimshaw, Elk River, Minnesota; father and step-mother, Jim and Aimee Thornton Grimshaw, Issaquah, Washington; nieces Kirsten and Melissa Johnson, Beth Grimshaw; nephew Mike Grimshaw; and mother-in-law, Harriet Harper.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the funeral home; burial in Somerset Cemetery, Paola, Kansas.
