Deborah L. Close

b. January 28, 1959

Deborah Close, 59, of Shawnee passed away at her home.  Deb was born January 28, 1959 to the late Donald and Wanda May Satterfield in Kansas City, MO.  A lifetime Kansas City area resident, Debbie graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest in 1977.  She worked for various federal government agencies for over 40 years, most recently she served as a Flight Data Supervisor for the Federal Aviation Agency.   Deb was an avid environmentalist and had a soft spot in her heart for animals.  She volunteered many hours at local no-kill animal shelters.

Deborah is survived by her brother, Don W. Satterfield and wife Marlene; 2 nephews, Russell Satterfield; Matthew Schroeder; 3 nieces, Dianne Schroeder and partner Jason Gant; niece Jessica Schroeder; Mollie Dauer and husband Lonny; 4 grandnieces, Tristyn Kaeb; Celeste Satterfield; Haylie Schroeder; Marlie Dauer; and 2 grandnephews, Holden Gant and Hunter Dauer.

Visitation and Graveside Services

Visitation will be 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee.  Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5 at Shawnee Mission Memorial Gardens.
