Deborah L. Martin, 65, of Lenexa, KS passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Research Medical Center.

Debbie was born November 7, 1952 in Highland, KS.  She attended Tonganoxie High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Nursing from Webster University.  In 1986 she joined the United States Army Reserves and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2004.  She retired in 2006 from the Army as a Major.  Debbie also worked as an operating room nurse for several hospitals in the Kansas City area. She retired from Menorah Medical Center in December 2017.  After retiring, she was able to take her bucket list vacation to Oahu, Hawaii and finally visited all 50 states.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Alice Martin.  She is survived by the sister she never had, Priscilla Turrel and family, Laurie Turrel; Brian Turrel and wife Peggy; Jared, Diane, Margaret and Peter Turrel; and many dear friends.

Celebration of Life Service

A celebration of Debbie's life will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 14, 2018 at VFW Post 846, 8804 Grant Ave, Overland Park, KS 66212.
