Debra Ann Brenton

Debra Ann (Bruce) Brenton, 42, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at her parents' home in Leawood, Kansas, following a hard-fought battle with a rare form of cancer.

Debby was born on November 20, 1969, in Hays, Kansas, to Ruth Ann (Murphy) and D. Max Bruce. Growing up in Western Kansas, Debby was active in dance, gymnastics, band and twirling. Upon completing studies in Apparel and Textile Marketing at Kansas State University, Debby moved to Colorado Springs and then Anchorage, Alaska, before returning to the Kansas City area to be close to her family.

Whether it was playing a game of cards or travelling around the country, Debby lived for fun and excitement. She had a profound impact wherever she went, and will be greatly missed.

She leaves behind her son, Tyler, 16, of Richmond, Missouri; parents, Max and Ruth Bruce of Leawood, Kansas; brother, Kevin Bruce of Lecompton, Kansas; sister, Krystal Nicholson, husband William, and son Landon, all of Olathe, Kansas; and many close family and friends.

A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 10100 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas 66212.
