Delnar “Del” Stangohr

Delnar Stangohr, 85, passed with peace and grace on June 23, with his family by his side and in his heart. He is predeceased in death by his loving wife Joanne, and his mother and father, Parmelia and Walter.   He is survived by his children Janet, Karen (Steve), Mark (Michelle), Dave (Elizabeth) and Sarah (Jason);  16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  Del served in the US Air Force and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 35 years. He also sang in the church choirs at Holy Cross Catholic Church and Ascension Catholic Church for over 30 years.  Del loved to travel and was fortunate to have traveled throughout the continental US, Alaska and Spain. He loved to spend time with his family, many friends and frequently enjoyed lunch at Minsky’s Pizza.

Visitation will be held at Church of the Ascension, 9510 W 127th St, Overland Park, KS 66213 from 9:00-10:00 AM on Thursday, June 28th.  Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers and gifts the family is requesting contributions be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 98018, Washington DC 20090.
