Dennis N. Carter

Dennis N. Carter, 56, of Overland Park, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 at the University of Kansas Hospital.

Dennis was born January 27, 1954 to Marian and Norman Carter in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1972. After high school Dennis attended Kansas State University and received a Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture. Dennis is a member of American Society of Landscape Architects. He enjoyed spending time fishing for bass, crappie and trout or playing a round of golf with his friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Norman Carter, in July of 1990.

He is survived by his loving mother Marian, two sisters, Debbie Ferguson and husband Larry, and Judy Fritts; three nieces, Belinda Malara and husband Matt, Kelley Lee and husband Jeff, Lauren Ferguson; two great nephews, Nik Lee and Myles Malara.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718

Memorial Visitation

A memorial visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
