Dennis Patrick Hendrix

October 4, 1960 — March 28, 2018

Dennis P. Hendrix, 57, passed away on March 28th, 2018.  He was born October 4th, 1960 to William and Mary Hendrix.  Dennis grew up on a farm in Edgerton, KS and later graduated from Gardner-Edgerton High School. He then went to the University of Kansas, graduating with a degree in Business.  He went on to work in the family business at Go Chicken Go until 2012.  He later founded SAER Chicken Coop in 2017.

Dennis shared twenty-one years of marriage with his brown eyed girl, Jodi, and they were blessed with their four beautiful children, Sydney, Alec, Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Reese, whom he adored.  Growing up, Dennis enjoyed weekends with his family at The Lake of the Ozarks and continued to share his love of the lake and boating with his family and friends.  He loved boats, trains, cars and motorcycles. He was the number one fan of The Rolling Stones and followed them all over the country to see them in concert.

He had a wide range of friends from all walks of life and could make a friend out of a stranger in a heartbeat.  His family and friends will treasure all the good times they shared together.  He will be remembered for his generous heart. Dennis was a lifelong Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, KS.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Timothy Hendrix. Dennis is survived by his wife; four children; three sisters, Peggy (Tom) Pennington; Mary Pat Beals; and Caroline Ransier; brothers, William (Rhonda) Hendrix and Michael (Susan) Hendrix; mother-in-law, Judy Hawken; uncles Ben and Tom Zarda; aunt, Helen Zarda; nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 2nd from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS 66203.  The rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, April 3rd at 10:30 AM also at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Private family interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery on Wednesday, April 4th at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children Hendrix Education in care of Central Bank of the Midwest.
