Dennis Ivan

Dennis Ivan, 68, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012, while on leave from the Sweet Life in Shawnee to visit his farm in Miami County.

Dennis, who had been in declining health, was born January 4, 1944, in Salina, Kansas. Dennis moved to Russell in 1957 and then to Mission in 1960. He lived in Miami County since early 1980's. Dennis Parents, Olga Ivan and Wilmer Ivan preceded him in death.

Dennis retired from Ford Motor Company in 2001 after 33 years. Dennis loved his farm, his old collector cars, his cats, and blues music on Blues Cruises and the Helena Blues Festival. Most of all, however, he loved his children, grandchildren and his family.

Survivors include his daughter Suzanne Ivan and her two children, Katie and Joey, his son, Daniel Ivan, and his brother John Ivan and his wife Ruth. Survivors also includes his cousins, Greg Lederer and Paula, Vickie Norton and Don, James Lederer, David Ivan and Jacque, his nephew Mike Steele was with him at the farm on Friday and his niece, Dr. Laura Ivan.

The family wants to especially thank Greg and Paula for their wonderful help as Dennis battled cancer. There also is appreciation for the personnel at Sweet Life for their compassion.

There will be a visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Thursday, July 12,2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
