Diane M. Garrett, 56, of Olathe, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at her home.  Diane was born August 19, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mary Catherine (O'Connor) and Charles Garrett.  She was a longtime Shawnee resident, and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1978.  After high school, Diane attended St. Mary of the Plain College and earned a bachelor's in Theater in 1982.

Diane enjoyed acting and singing with the Theater in the Park and Olathe Community Theater Association.  She appeared many productions including "Guys and Dolls", "Quilters" and "Bye-Bye Birdie".

Diane is survived by her parents, Mary Catherine and Charles Garrett; five sisters, Catherine Brandes (Jeff); Christine Resovich (Michael); Pamela Garrett; Deborah Lollar (James); Julia Garrett; 3 nieces; 3 nephews and 4 great nephews.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, May 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church (temporary church at the gym of the old St. Joseph High School Gym, 11525 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS).  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
