Dixie Lorie Miller, 80, Shawnee, KS passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 in Kansas City, MO. Dixie was born Nov. 22, 1935 in Plainview, TX to Joe Richard and Naomi Hicks. She attended Westport High School in Kansas City, MO. On Oct. 22, 1954, Dixie married John Miller in Kansas City. She was a past president of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years. Dixie was very politically active in the Democratic Party and in many other community organizations. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother. Dixie is survived by husband, John Miller, Sr.; three children, John (Janet) Miller, Jr., Jefferson City, MO, Sabrina (Bret) Casper, Shawnee, KS and Lana Jansson, Plano, TX; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services

Visitation 3-4 p.m. followed by a service at 4:00 p.m., Monday, Feb. 1 at the Monticello United Methodist Church; burial in the Monticello Union Cemetery.
