Don Jean Hudson, Sr.

Don Hudson, Sr., 91, of Shawnee, KS passed away on February 19th, 2023.  He was born on October 7th, 1931 in Harper, TX to Chester and Jean Hudson.  A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25th from 2:30 to 3:30 pm at Amos Family Funeral Home.  A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:30 pm.  Burial at Monticello Union Cemetery.

Don grew up in Harper, TX and Kansas City, KS graduating from Wyandotte High School in 1949.  Don married the love of his life, Sylvia Condron, on February 1st, 1952.  He spent his career with the American Can Company starting in Kansas City, MO in 1952 and transferred to Oak Forest, IL in 1967.  He later went to the Corporate Headquarters in Greenwich, CT and lived in New Fairfield, CT.  Don and his wife, Sylvia, retired at The Lake of the Ozarks where they enjoyed their golden years before moving back to Shawnee, KS.   Don was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Don was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Sylvia Hudson; daughter, Rhonda Beth Hudson; and brothers, Bob and Dick Hudson.  He is survived by his five sons, Jeffery (Maggie) Hudson, Bruce Hudson, Barry (Malvina) Hudson, Jon (Sally) Hudson and Don (Nancy) Hudson, Jr.; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles (Marnie) Hudson.
