Donald Raymond Jamieson, 89, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020. He was born on October 20th, 1931 in Chicago, IL. He earned a B.S. and M.S. degree in chemistry from Southern Illinois University, and performed doctoral work at the University of Michigan. He was also a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the army as an MP. Don worked in the petrochemical and aerospace industries, and holds several patents. He retired from Allied-Signal in 1992. He had many interests and hobbies, including electronics, astronomy, music, ice skating, golf, Scottish culture and heritage, travel, poetry, and coaching (baseball and football). He was a past member of the American Chemical Society, the Kansas City Astronomy Club, and the Kansas City St. Andrews Society, and he also served as a library volunteer at the Johnson County Library. He was a current member of the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 181. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joan, two children, daughter Elizabeth (David) Zlotky, son Eric (Susan) Jamieson, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
