Donald Lee Wilson age 73 of Shawnee, KS passed away on Wednesday May 29, 2013, after a long illness with Parkinsons Disease.

Don was born August 17, 1939 to Albert and Effie Wilson in St Joseph MO. Don the oldest of five brothers Les, Forrest, Melvin and Loren, grew up in St. Joseph and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1958. He served in the United States Air Force Reserves as a Firefighter. Don worked at various jobs, and retired as a local truck driver. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Shawnee. Don married Madonna Mildred Moore of Harrisonville, MO in 1959. After 42 years of marriage she passed away in May of 2001. Together Don and Madonna raised 4 children. Doneen (Chris) Childress, Topeka, KS, Donald E.(Sharon) Wilson, Bonner Springs, KS, Donita (Brian) Oehlert, Shawnee, KS, Donlee (Lynne) Wilson San Antonio, TX. Don has 6 grandchildren, Allie Childress, Willie Wilson, Emily Wilson, Erica Wilson, Jacob (Kaci) Oehlert, and Timothy Oehlert. 2 Step grandchildren, 1 great grandson Zachary Oehlert, 1 step grandson. In 2002, Don married Linda Hackler
from Shawnee KS, Linda lovingly cared for Don during his long illness. From this marriage, he has 2 step daughters Angela Stangland of Seaside Oregon, Theresa Meadows, Temple, GA, 4 Step grandchildren 2 step great grandsons. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Wife Madonna, Brother Forrest, twin sons Donald A. and David E. Wilson, granddaughter Donna Jene Wilson, and 1 step grandchild and 1 great grandson. Don serviced his Lord from a young age including as, Deacon and Minister of music. Don will be missed by his many family and friends.

Visitation will be June 5, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at the Amos Family Funeral Home, Shawnee KS, Memorial Service June 6, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Shawnee 11:00 am, Burial Service 2:00 pm at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Harrisonville MO.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Kansas City Hospice.
