Donald “Don” Joe Rudkin, 87, passed away on September 28th, 2021 at The Anthology of Olathe.
Don was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jean and Frances Rudkin on July 14, 1934. Don was the ornery boy of the three Rudkin sons and one sister. Don attended school and when he was finished, went into the workforce for Safeway Grocery Stores.
It was there that he met Jo Wall, a cashier at a store he had recently transferred to. She and Don dated for a couple of years and got married on August 3, 1957. Together they had two children, Karla and Steve. Don worked as a salesman for Chevron Chemical, and retired with them after several years.
Don was a talented craftsman, enjoying working with his hands and creating all sorts of things for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time outside in his flower garden and tending to his yard. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandpa, who will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob Rudkin, and a great-grandson Karter Krum. He is survived by his wife, Jo; children Karla (Frank) Doan, and Steve (Sherry) Rudkin; grandchildren Kale Krum, Kaycee Krum (Kyle Crothers), Mitch Rudkin, and Brad (Aarron) Rudkin; great-grandchildren Jackson, Grant, Lukas and Ryker;
