Donald “Dale” Thurman

Donald "Dale" Thurman, 90, Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Homestead of Olathe North, Olathe, Kansas.

Dale was born April 8, 1923 in Mt. Ayro, Iowa, to Earl and Ruth Ann Thurman. He was a veteran of US Army Air Force during WWII. Dale was a 57 year member of the IBEW Local 124, retiring in 1985.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Juanita Thurman on November 16, 2010, four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his three sons, James (Shirley) Kilburn, Shawnee, Kansas, Joe (Judy) Kilburn, Leavenworth, Kansas, and Don (Rhonda) Thurman, Olathe, Kansas; sister-in-law, Billie Jean (Charles) Burris, Shawnee, Kansas; three sisters, Vera Wyrick, Kansas City, Kansas, Shirley Kilburn, Shawnee, Kansas, and Dorothy Irons, Warsaw, Missouri; brother, Darrell (Nancy) Thurman, Kansas City, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Friends may call from 9-11:00 am, Monday, July 15, 2013, at Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am; entombment in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
