Donna Kay Keepes

October 22, 1946 — October 20, 2017

Donna K. Keepes, 70, of Lenexa, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Donna was born October 22, 1946 to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Keepes in Kansas City, MO.  Donna graduated from Raytown South High School in 1964.  After graduation Donna earned a bachelor's degree from Central Missouri State University in 1968.  She was a member of the Lenexa Chamber of Commerce and volunteered her time as a "Big" with Big Brothers and Big Sisters and spent time with hospice patients in Gardner.  She was proud of her Irish heritage and loved to travel; she was able to visit Napa and Sonoma, California with her close friends.  Donna had a strong catholic faith and was a true child of God; she was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Shawnee.

She is also preceded in death by an aunt, Kay Keepes; her brothers, Patrick Keepes and Daniel Keepes.  Donna is survived by her four nephews, Joshua D. Keepes and wife Jennifer; Shane T. Keepes; Thomas Keepes; Kenneth Keepes; four nieces, Jennifer Pantoja, Deborah Glathaar; Kathrine Keepes, Virginia Keepes; a great nephew, Isaiah Keepes and dear friends, Melissa Matejicka and Sandie Kellar.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 26 at the Amos Family Funeral Home, where a rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Shawnee, 5501 Monticello Rd., Shawnee, KS 66216.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills East Cemetery in Lee's Summit, MO.
