Doris Mae Leyden

Doris Mae Leyden, 92, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away August 14, 2013, at Garden Terrace in Overland Park, Kansas.

Doris was born April 7, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois, to George and Helen Schober. She graduated from Harper High School and was a teacher for many years after receiving her degree from Chicago Teachers College and later her masters from the University of Kansas. She was a member of the Village Presbyterian Church and former President of the Johnson County Y Singles.

She is survived by her sons, Richard G. (Barbara) Leyden and Raymond W. "Bill" Leyden Jr.; and grandchildren: Cassandra, Matthew, Brianna and Nicholas Leyden. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Raymond William Leyden, brother, George Schober, and a grandchild, William Donald "Tom" Leyden.

Visitation will be from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m., Monday August 19, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be at Fort Leavenworth Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
