Doris Veal Nelson, 79, of Shawnee, Kansas, died June 7, 2011, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center .
She was currently residing at Trinity Nursing Center. Doris graduated from Emporia State and taught elementary school and learning disabilities in Kansas City, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her friend, Delores Sauer and her parents, Lula and John Veal.

Memorial graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Wilsey, Kansas.
