Doris Jean VanHercke, 71, Shawnee, KS passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 at her home. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29 at the St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Amos Family Funeral Home, where a rosary recitation will be at 2:00 p.m.

Doris was born Shawnee, KS to Harold and Anna Marie VanHercke on Aug. 30, 1944. She attended Donnelly College. Doris was employed with the IRS for many years.

Doris was preceded in death by her son, Michael Duane VanHercke on Oct. 2, 2015. She is survived by her two daughters, Jean Marie VanHercke and Lisa D. VanHercke; and grandson, Joshua VanHercke, all of Shawnee, KS.
