Dorothy Laverne Gould

Dorothy LaVerne Gould, 86, of Boliver, Missouri, formerly of Merriam, Kansas, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Dorothy was born October 18, 1924, to the late John and Nell Moore in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On March 30, 1943, Dorothy married Norman Gould in Camp Crowder, Missouri. He preceded her in death after 61 years of marriage on May 15, 2004. Dorothy was a very active member of Merriam Christian Church and worked for Macy's Department Store in Merriam, Kansas, until her retirement. She spent her last years at Parkview Senior Housing in Boliver, Missouri.

Dorothy is survived by a daughter Linda Irene Salkil, and husband Ron; two sons, Larry James Gould and wife Brenda; Roger Edwin Gould, and wife Karen; brother, John Al Moore; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Merriam Christian Church, 9401 Johnson Drive, Merriam, Kansas 66203 or to Citizen’s Memorial Hospice, 1500 N. Oakland Avenue, Boliver, Missouri 65613.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be 12 to 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
