Dorothy "Nana" Lackner passed away peacefully with family at her side on March 4, 2015 at the age of 81.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lackner, and her parents, Herbert and Ivy Gill. Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Ken Gill, Bob Gill, Kate Elliot, Joan Lamb, Colin Gill and Joyce Morgan, all of England, UK; her children Paul Lackner, Linda Lackner, Cathy Merriman, Rose Nibert, Michael Lackner, Donald "DJ" Lackner and Robert Lackner; her grandchildren, Steven Merriman, Kevin Lackner, Ryan Nibert, Kara Caraway, Chris Merriman, Ashley Steineger, Nicole McBee, Jeff Lackner, Matthew Lackner, Jennifer Taylor, Emily Lackner, Brittany Lackner, Nicholas Lackner, Katie Lackner and Robert "Ezra" Lackner as well as 20 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was born in Gainsborough, England on January 26, 1934. She worked as a nurse for 15 years, before dedicating her time to her children and grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed traveling to see her family in England and spending time with them. She lived for her children and grandchildren.

Celebration of Life Services

The celebration of life will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 7 p.m., the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Private graveside service for family at Maple Hill Cemetery to follow.
