Dorothy Mcnatt

Dorothy (Renner) McNatt was called to her eternal home on September 11, 2010. God granted her an earthly life of 97 years, 9 months, and 6 days. She now lives with the Lord forever.

Dorothy was born December 5, 1912, in Shawnee, Kansas, to George and Esther Renner. Dorothy was baptized on April 17, 1927. She joined Salem Lutheran Church confirming her faith March 24, 1929. She graduated from Shawnee Mission Rural High School in 1931. Dorothy worked for the Shawnee Mission food service for many years and also worked for Mission Cleaners in Merriam, Kansas. Dorothy was a long time member of the Shawnee Fire Department Women's Auxiliary as well as the Shawnee Historical Society.

On August 24, 1935, Dorothy was united in marriage to William Verne McNatt, he preceded her in death on May 8, 2009. Dorothy is also preceded in death by a brother, George L. Renner, in September of 2002 and a sister, Mildred Cooley in August of 2009.

She is survived by two children, Barbara Schweiger and husband Tom and Nancy Jewell and husband Bryant; four grandchildren, Kent Schweiger and wife Karen, Karry Hamilton and husband Wes, Derrick Jewell and wife Cindy, Stacey Parsley and husband, Jim; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren, one sister Eleanor Trager, and an honorary daughter Vickie Wilson.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Salem Lutheran Church, 13402 W. 92nd Street, Lenexa, Kansas 66215 or to a charity of your choice.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel. Dorothy will be laid to rest in the Shawnee Cemetery following services.
