Dorothy M. Sloan

Dorothy M. Sloan, 86, Cape Fair, Missouri, passed away at St. John's Health Care Center in Springfield, Missouri.

Dorothy was born in Lisle, Missouri, June 16, 1923. For 30 years she worked side-by-side with her husband of 45 years, James Sloan, in their business, Sloan Printing, Inc. For most of those years she was lead printer. Dorothy was a charter member of West Highland Presbyterian Church. During the latter part of her life she lived in the Ozarks enjoying the wildlife and nature's wonders. She enjoyed travelling, gambling and her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Sloan and grandson, Phil Sims. Her survivors include daughter Sharon Sims, Cape Fair, Missouri; son Robert Darrah, Shawnee, Kansas; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Leonard Tribby, Allen Tribby and John Tribby and sister Betty Harris.

The family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Memorial Service and Reception

Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A reception and fellowship will be held at the home of son, Robert Darrah, following the service.
