Dorothy M. Soetaert

Dorothy M. Soetaert, 92, Lenexa, KS passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 at the Olathe Hospice House, Olathe, KS.

Dorothy was born Jan. 14, 1926 in Overland Park, KS to William H. and Mabel (Walmer) England. She attended Shawnee Mission Rural High School. On May 19, 1951, Dorothy married Albert Soetaert at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lenexa, KS. She retired in 1988 from the Shawnee Mission School District where she was cafeteria manager at Rosehill Elementary School. Dorothy was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Grinter Quilting Bees.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Soetaert, Sr. on April 26, 2017 and son, Christopher Soetaert on Nov. 17, 2007. She is survived by her children, Albert J. (Janet) Soetaert, Jr., Glendale, AZ, Diane (Jim) Klempnauer, Lenexa, KS, Mary Jo (Bruce) Baumgartner, Wellsville, KS and Robert Soetaert, Shawnee, KS; sister, Katharine (Don) Morris, Lenexa, KS; daughter-in-law, Tammy Soetaert, Melvern, KS;  seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10 at the Amos Family Funeral Home, where a rosary recitation will be at 6:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home; burial in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
