January 10, 1933 — March 5, 2009

Dorothy L. Talbot, 76, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away March 5, 2009.

She was born January 10, 1933 in Wauneta, Kansas, the daughter of Floyd and Esther House Stewart. She attended rural school and then high school in Sedan, Kansas. Later she received a diploma from Johnson County Community College.

In 1954 Dorothy was married to Gerald Langley and four sons were born of that marriage. They lived in Topeka, Kansas then moved to Kansas City, Kansas a few years later, finally settling in Roeland Park, Kansas to raise their family. She and her husband were divorced.

Later Dorothy married Alfred Talbot and they made their home in Overland Park, Kansas. Dorothy worked for several companies in Topeka and the Kansas City area. She retired in 1990 as a secretary for the Suburban Propane Company. She demonstrated a zest for life in spite of her many physical infirmities. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and made many quilts and gifts for family and friends. Another great interest was her involvement in activities at Southridge Presbyterian Church.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Alfred Talbot of Overland Park; two sisters, Marjorie Cooper of Cedar Vale, Kansas and Elizabeth Kerr of Coffeyville, Kansas; her four sons: Floyd Langley of Irving, Texas, David Langley of Kansas City, Kansas, Bruce Langley of Shawnee, Kansas, and Douglas Langley of Mesa, Arizona; also by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
