Dorothy Irene Weber

October 3, 1933 — March 8, 2020

Dorothy Irene (Markham) Weber passed away on Sunday, March 8th at her home. She was born on October 3rd, 1933 in Marion, KS to John and Hazel (Young) Markham.  Dorothy graduated from Marion High School with the senior class of 1951. She worked at Bell Telephone as a telephone operator in Marion upon graduation. She married Mark J. Weber on Dec. 27th, 1951 in Marion, KS at the new St. Mark Catholic Church being the first couple to marry in the new church. He preceded her in death in December of 1989.
Dorothy & Mark made their home in Kansas City, KS where they raised their children. She was a devoted member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Wyandot Chapter and served as a Regent. She loved to attend the meetings and had been a member for 28 years. She was a past member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Kansas City, KS. Dorothy enjoyed various arts and crafts and was an avid reader.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Bill Markham and nephew, Shaun Schamerhorn, of Pittsburg, KS. She is survived by her children, Ann West, Leo Weber, Terry Weber and Mark-John Weber; sister, Peggy Schamerhorn of Pittsburg, KS and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 5-7 PM at the Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS 66203. A graveside service will take place on Friday, March 13th at 1 PM at Marion Cemetery in Marion, KS.
