Doungsamorn B. Elrod, 86, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away on May 21st, 2021. She was born in Bangkok, Thailand on May 6th, 1935. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, May 26th at 11 am at Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Road, Leavenworth, Kansas 66048.
Dang (as she was affectionately called by family and friends) married the love of her life, Air Force Colonel Erwin B. Elrod in 1969. She came to faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus and devoted her life to Him 45 years. They had a happy life at their Land Mark Ranch in Climax Springs, Missouri. She became a United States citizen in June, 1981. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998 and in spite of her many health issues, she always had a caring, optimistic heart. In 1999, she became a member at New Life Baptist Church.
She was truly blessed to live with her loving, caregiving family for the past 21 years: compassionate Boualath and Ken Sengpraseuth and her dear granddaughters, Kristi and Keri, who all cherish her memory and will always remember their sweet life together. Also surviving Dang is her daughter, Yannie, in Thailand and her grandson, Alex, in Switzerland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of D. B. Elrod to New Life Baptist Church, 134 Ridgeview Road, Olathe, KS 66061.
