Dr. David Louis Defeo

Dr. David Louis DeFeo, 73, Kansas City, MO passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.

David was born Feb. 4, 1943 in Kansas City, KS to Michael and Barbara DeFeo. He was a 1961 graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School, attended Kansas State University receiving his degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1967. While at KSU, he was an active member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. On July 27, 1969, David married the love of his life, Carolyn Smith in Kingman, KS. David practiced veterinary medicine at Country Acres Small Animal Clinic and Kennel in Merriam, KS for 37 years. He was an avid reader, Civil War buff, and lover of all animals. David's number one hobby was enjoying and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn DeFeo; three daughters, Heather (Mike) Minor, Prairie Village, KS, Heidi (Matt) Meyer, Chicago, IL and Erin (Trevor) Gustafson, Prairie Village, KS; brother, Richard (Phyllis) DeFeo, Albuquerque, NM; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Lucy, Hailey, Eve, Elle, Molly, and Emery; and many other family and friends. EMAW!!!

Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 23 at the Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208, followed by a luncheon. Private inurnment will be in the Monticello Union Cemetery, Shawnee, KS.
