Dr. William "Bill" Huse II passed away on October 10th, 2020 at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.
Bill was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Frederick and Margaret Huse on May 20th, 1937. He grew up in Tulsa, eventually moving to Kansas City to attend the University of Kansas for his undergraduate degree in 1959 and his doctorate in 1963. He was a passionate Jayhawk fan and a proud alumni as he was part of the KU Alumni program for all of his life. After graduation Bill was drafted into the U.S. Army Medical Corp. as a Captain and served in Vietnam. Bill was proud of his accomplishments in the military and was grateful to serve his country. After his discharge in 1968, he was a resident at General Hospital (now known as Truman Medical Center) and met his future wife, Linda, who also worked at the hospital. He was passionate about his profession and was Chief of Staff of St. Mary's Hospital and also St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City. When not working, he loved to travel, and was overjoyed of his accomplishment of visiting all 7 continents, some more than once. Spending time outdoors was one of his favorite things to do, whether it was backpacking, skiing, or gardening. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Margaret Sullivan and her husband Dr. Henry Sullivan. Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda, and his three children: Carolyne (Ted) Johnson, Shawn (Jana) Huse, and Jason (Vicki) Huse. He is also survived by his seven granddaughters: Sarah, Kadie, Aimee, Emily, Peighton, Natalie, and Rebecca; and three great-grandchildren. He took great pride in his grandchildren and loved them dearly. He is also survived by his nieces and nephew: Jennie Clarke, Dr. Brad (Sandy) Sullivan, and Julie (Jack) Foster.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
