Dr. Peter Perdaris PhD, 89, passed away on Nov. 18, 2017. Peter was born June 16, 1928 in Emporia, KS to Sam and Florence Perdaris. Peter is survived by his wife, Joann, children; Chris (Donald) Hackney, Patty (Jon) Onion, and Joann's children; Linda (Michael) Cessor, Kenneth (Carol) Morris, Cathy Morris Watson, Julie Cassmeyer, Jackie Aguilar, Jill (Tony) Cammisano, sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, sister, Sarah, and the mother of Peter's children, Shirley Perdaris. Peter was preceded in death by his parents, son, Peter Michael, five sisters and one brother. Peter served in the Navy as a frog man (later known as a navy seal) during WWII.  He earned multiple medals of Honor including the Purple Heart.  Following his service in the navy, Peter returned to school and obtained degrees in Art Education / Administration and a PhD in psychology.  He was an accomplished artist and served for many years as the Art Administrator for Shawnee Mission School District He loved his family so much, and spent most of his retirement years attending sporting events, family gatherings, and helping in any way he could.  His strong presence, kind & gentle demeanor, and infectious laugh will remain in our memories forever.

Visitation is set for 6 ~ 8 PM, Fri., Nov. 24, 2017 at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS 66203 with a funeral service at 10 AM, Sat. Nov. 25, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa, KS.
