Dr. Theodore D. Mcclure Phd

Dr. Theodore D. McClure PhD, 81, passed away on November 11, 2017. Ted was born October 10, 1936 in New Virginia, Iowa to Harley and Frances McClure. Theodore is survived by his wife, Madonna, sons, Michael, Kevin and Tom (Ann) McClure, two grandchildren, Patrick and Kathryn McClure, four brothers; Boyd, Dale, Harold and David McClure. Ted was preceded in death by his parents. Ted had many years of civic leadership in the city of Lenexa with roles on the City Council and planning commission. His largest passion in life was his 30 years of competitive BBQ competing as Team (Pretty Darn Tasty) PDT and his work with the Kansas City barbeque society. For over 30 years, Ted was a Professor at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine and UMKC School of Medicine. After retirement, Ted dedicated his time volunteering at the American legion and VFW Post 7397 in Lenexa, Kansas.

A Visitation is set for 10:00 ~ 11:00 AM, Friday, November 17, 2017 at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203 with a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial is set for Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas.
