Drew Allen Cresswell passed away in his home with his wife by his side at the age of 47 Wednesday, October 29, 2014, after fighting a 16 month battle with colon cancer. He was born in Wellsboro, PA, adopted as an infant and moved to Alexandrea, PA, where he spent the majority of his childhood. Drew later moved to Overland Park, KS, where he graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School.

Drew held a General Class Amateur Radio license (W0DLJ) and was an active member of several emergency communications groups. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Johnson County Emergency Service as well as several leadership positions including crafting a catastrophic amateur radio emergency communications plan for the County and Net Controller during severe weather events. In addition to his passion for weather, Drew enjoyed watching KU basketball and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jennifer Rondomanski Cresswell, and four year old daughter Anna Marie Cresswell, Overland Park KS; mother Betty Rasmussen and stepfather Arnold Rasmussen, Overland Park KS; father Francis Cresswell, Alexandrea, PA; brother David Cresswell, Kansas City KS; and many in-laws and nieces and nephews throughout the metro area.

Memorial Service

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2014, at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, Kansas, where the service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
