Dwight A. Thomsen, 68, of Overland Park, KS passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his home.

Dwight was born June 11, 1951 to the late Wisthi and Charmaine Thomsen in Kearney, NE.  He attended Axtell High School and graduated from Minden High School in 1969.  After graduating, Dwight attended Brown Institute School of Broadcasting in Minneapolis, MN.  He worked for several years as an on air personality in the Minneapolis and Dubuque areas.  Dwight started a snack business that supplied truck stops and gas stations with meats, cheese and other goodies all throughout the Midwest.  Dwight's entrepreneurial spirit led him to buy a Chem-Dry and floor maintenance franchise with a longtime friend.  In the mid-1990's, Dwight became an Insurance Broker for Principal Financial Group, and later a Mortgage Broker for several years.  On May 23, 2008 Dwight married Olene Didrickson in Kansas City, MO.

He is survived by his loving wife Olene; his mother, Charmaine Thomsen; his children, Dane Thomsen and wife Chastady; Brooke Thomsen; two grandsons, Clark and Isaac Thomsen; four brothers, Dr, Eric Thomsen and wife Mary; Brian Thomsen; Kirk Thomsen and wife Marian; Kent Thomsen and wife Alice.
