Earline Burns, age 93, longtime resident of Augusta, Kansas, passed away Thursday, July 09, 2009.
Earline was born on April 21, 1916 in Hardin, Missouri. Earline's jobs ranged throughout her lifetime from a car hop to eventually an owner of the Fifth Avenue Coffee Shop. Later, Earline worked as a bookkeeper for IGA for 23 years before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, her infant twin granddaughters and her husband, D.R. Burns. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Heath of Overland Park, Kansas; her grandson, David Norton of Mission, Kansas; her granddaughter and husband, Mike and Julie Farmer, of Overland Park, Kansas; her granddaughter Shan Haider of Frazier Park, California; her niece Anna Lee Burress of Baldwin City, Kansas; and five great-grandchildren. Her kind heart and beautiful smile will be missed by so many.
Graveside Service
A graveside service will be held for family and friends at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2009, at the Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, Kansas.
