Edward C. Klempnauer, Jr., 79, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away at home, Monday, November 9, 2009.
He was born September 27, 1930 in Kansas City, Kansas to Edward C., Sr. and Olive G. Klempnauer. He graduated from Argentine High School and Kansas City Kansas Community College. He spent summers at his grandparent's farm in Grain Valley, Missouri, helping milk cows.
Ed retired from Black & Veatch after 43 years, his last position being Mechanical Drafting Supervisor. He served 20 years in the Kansas National Guard.
Ed is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wilma I. Klempnauer; daughters, Elaine Cuppy of Shawnee, Kansas, Diane Clinesmith and her husband, Mike, of Overland Park, Kansas, and Gale Howard and her husband, Bryan, of Lee's Summit, Missouri; grandchildren, Josh, Cassandra, Dan, Jacob, Devon, Aaron and Chrissy; brother, Phillip Klempnauer, of Henderson, Nevada; and many brothers and sisters-in-law who were like his own family and many nieces and nephews who were all special to him.

Visitation and Funeral Services
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Community Covenant Church, with burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
