Eileen L. Jakobe

Eileen L. Jakobe, age 88, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.

Eileen was born to John J. Jakobe and Teresa Rose Jakobe on October 24, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri where she resided until 1970 when she moved to Mission, KS. Eileen was one of 6 children born to her parents.

In her circle Eileen was always there with a helping hand and heart. She was the first one there when an illness attacked one of her loved ones. Eileen lived with her parents until their passing in 1994.

Eileen was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Mission for 50 years. She spent most of her career working in the print shop at GSA where she retired in 1989.

Eileen loved family, travelling, enjoyed light gambling, playing bingo and card games, as well as assembling puzzles.

Eileen was a very attentive and loving aunt to her 24 nieces and nephews. Eileen was preceeded in death by her parents John and Teresa Jakobe, her 5 siblings John Jakobe, Thomas Jakobe, William "Bill" Jakobe, Mary Land, and Joanne Todd, as well as 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

The family would like to thank the employees at Sunrise of Leawood for the loving care they gave our aunt in her last few weeks of care.

On Monday, August 21, 2023 a rosary will be prayed at 9:30am, with visitation following from 10-11am, and Mass of Christian Burial at 11am -- all taking place at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Mission, KS. She will be laid to rest at Forest Hill & Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, MO on Tuesday at 10:30am.
