Elda “Billie” E. Smith, 89, Overland Park, KS passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021 at her home. Cremation.
Elda was born July 4, 1932 in Hopewell, KS to George L. and Perl Ackley. On August 6, 1949 Elda married Donald S. Smith in Cassville, MO. They were longtime residents of Overland Park, KS. Elda was employed with K-Mart for over 30 years. She was an active charter member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Overland Park. Donald and Elda raised their great grand-son, Darian Lord, in their home.
Elda was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Donald S. Smith on April 29, 2021, grandson Shane Corbin, May 27, 2021, grandson, Bobby Lee Corbin, great granddaughter, Catherine Stepp, and three sisters Survivors include her three daughters, Donna K. Lord Johnson, Casa Grande, AZ, Arenda (Joey) Villarreal, Overland Park, KS and LaWana (Dan) Lampton, Edwards, MO; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers and five sisters.
