Eleanor Katherine (Domagalla) Hanneman, 89 of De Soto, KS passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014. Born May 23, 1924 in Custer Park, Illinois to Henry and Lucy Domagalla. She served her country as a member of the United States Navy from Oct 1943 to Feb. 1946 as Pharmacist's Mate Third Class. Married on November 9, 1946 to Joseph Hanneman who preceded her in death on December 23, 2002.

Eleanor and Joseph met and lived in Marseilles, IL then Ottawa, IL until moving to Overland Park, KS in 1965. Eleanor was known for being a kind, generous and loving home maker, wonderful cook, gardener and "the best grandma". She enjoyed hosting family events and spending time with her loved ones including her dogs.

Preceded in death by daughter Carol Coon on March 17, 1987. Survived by daughter Kathleen Ohmes (Kenny) of De Soto and two grandchildren, Jennifer Ohmes of AL and Joseph Ohmes (Cameon) of De Soto. Also survived by a sister, Henrietta Kyes of Overland Park, KS and a brother, Lawrence Domagalla (Charlotte) of Manhattan, IL. Three brothers Cash, Melvin and Raymond Domagalla and one sister Barbara Borden also preceded her death.

Service will begin at 10:30 Friday, January 17, 2014 at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery, 8321 Quivira, Lenexa, KS immediately following service.

Luncheon at Hereford House, 17422 Midland Drive, Shawnee, KS 66217 - Family and friends invited.
