Eleanor Luanne Jackson

August 25, 1919 — October 24, 2013

Eleanor Luanne Jackson, 94, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Thursday, Octpber 24, 2013, at The Atriums, Overland Park, Kansas. Eleanor was born August 25, 1919, in Utopia, Kansas, to Howard and Lucile Marriott. She grew up in Greenwood County, Kansas, and graduated from Eureka Senior High School. She attended Emporia State University and was a second grade teacher in the Eureka Public School System.

During WWII, Eleanor married James O. Jackson and they lived in Madison and Eureka, Kansas, before coming to Shawnee Mission in 1964. They were married 56 years before James passed away on November 15, 1998. Eleanor was a deacon at Shawnee Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her two sons, James (Linda) Jackson, Overland Park, Kansas, and Robert (Nancy) Jackson, Gladstone, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jamie Jackson, Chris Jackson, Jennifer Taylor, Kathryn Jackson and Molly Jackson; and great grandson, Carter Hageman.

Funeral Service, Graveside Service and Visitation

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Friends may call from 1-2 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2013, at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Salvation Army or Cancer Action.
