Eleanor Petersen Scutti, 86, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Autumn Leaves Memory Care in Overland Park.
Eleanor was born March 19th, 1933 to the late Frank and Esther Petersen in Brooklyn, New York. She was married to her husband, Robert for 55 years. Robert was in the U.S. Navy at the time of their marriage and she accompanied him to Naples, Italy where he was stationed for 2 1/2 years, during which time she became fluent in Italian. Robert preceded her in death on September 13, 2008. Eleanor earned an Associates Degree in teaching from Los Angeles Pierce College. She worked for Los Angeles School District in special education, retiring in 1994. Eleanor was active in Church and served in several capacities including Sunday school teacher, VBS, youth group leader for 47 years. She enjoyed her time as Director of the Youth Choir "Joyful Noises", where she played and taught guitar to many of the students. Eleanor was preceded in death by her brother Howard F. Petersen. She is survived by her son, Robert Peter Scutti and wife Cindy, two grandsons, Dale Scutti and Peter Scutti and wife Paige, and Grand-daughter, Carrie Henne, and sister, Jean P. Clark.
Visitation will be 2pm and Service will follow at 3pm, Sunday, November 17 at Amos Family Funeral Home at 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS. Eleanor will be laid to rest with her husband, Robert Anthony Scutti at 11am Tuesday, November 19th at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
