Libby Doherty, 76, of Shawnee, KS entered eternal life on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

Libby was born April 9, 1940 to the late John Paul and Eunice Heffernon in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1958. On June 11, 1960, she married and is survived by Gerald Doherty.

Libby is also survived by her children, Shawn P. (Molly) Doherty; Shannon L. (Rebecca) Doherty; Stacy A. (William) Taylor; Scott D. (Kristen) Doherty; eight grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Carol Heffernon; nephews, John Paul (Vickie) Heffernon, Michael (Elizabeth) Heffernon and their families. Libby is preceded in death by her brother John P. Heffernon and sister, Margaret J. Flanigan. Memorial contributions can be made to the church.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 22 at the Amos Family Funeral Home where a rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Wednesday, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Shawnee. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
