Elizabeth Anne Crowley Shaffer

Elizabeth Crowley Shaffer, 91, Kansas City, KS, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015.

Elizabeth was born in Kansas City, KS, on Sept. 2, 1923, to Sophie and Daniel Crowley. She graduated from Rosedale High School in 1941. Elizabeth married John A. Shaffer on July 26, 1952. She retired from Research Medical Center in 1989.

Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Peggy Crowley and her sister-in-law, Alice Crowley; her two daughters, Kathleen Henley (Mike), and Diane Frazee; four grandchildren, John, Joe, Joey (Jenna), and Kara. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, John, and siblings, Vince and Don Crowley.

Elizabeth was a lifelong resident of Wyandotte County and very proud of her roots. She enjoyed bowling, quilting, water aerobics and watching her Kansas City Royals. To her, family and friends were everything. All who knew Elizabeth will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Visitation and Rosary will be Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at Amos Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:00 a.m., March 23rd, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5130 Mission Road, Roeland Park, KS. Burial will follow Mass at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church.
