Ella Mae Todd

Ella Mae Todd, 80, Shawnee, KS passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.

Ella was born Feb. 12, 1934 in Kansas City, MO to Joseph and Pauline Janes. She was a 1952 graduate of East High School in Kansas City, MO. There she met James Todd and they were married on Sept. 7, 1952. Ella was employed with the Shawnee Mission School District for 28 years, retiring in 1996 as food service manager.

Ella was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Douglas Todd. Survivors include her husband, James Todd; four children and their spouses, James (Becky) Todd, Sarasota, FL, Sheryl (Dale) Brooks, Shawnee, KS, Doug (Patti) Todd, Lake Ozark, MO and Gary (Dawn) Todd, Edwardsville, KS; sister, Ruth Busby, Overland Park, KS; three brothers, Frank Janes, Overland Park, KS, Bob Janes, Lee's Summit, MO and Ralph Janes, Centerview, MO; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14 at the First Baptist Church of Shawnee. Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Private burial will be in the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to either St. Jude's Childrens Hospital or First Baptist Church of Shawnee.
