Elsie E. Higgins, 83, of Shawnee, KS passed away August 16, 2014. She was born Sept. 15, 1930 in Eldred, MN to Klemmet and Rachel (Hippie) Hegge. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, her son Robert Higgins, granddaughters Rachel and Angela. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Marvin Higgins, their children Kathryn (Norman), John (Regina), Ruth (Tom), grandchildren Lauren (Justin), Lance (Sarah), Lindsey (Aaron), Sarah (Bobby), Matthew, Jakob, and 7 great-grandchildren: Leah, Elise, Colton, Annabelle, Ava, Addison, and Oliver.Elsie was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her family before herself. Her sense of humor always brought smiles to all. She will always be treasured and dearly missed. For many years, Elsie was a member of the St. Joseph’s Resurrection Choir, volunteered within the St. Joseph Parish and the Shawnee community.

Visitation & Mass

A visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory. The Rosary will be recited at 6 pm. Mass will be Wednesday at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee, KS.
