Emma Elizabeth Scherman

Emma Scherman passed away June 17th, 2011 at her home with her devoted husband of 62 years and her loving family present. Emma was born Septemeber 19th, 1926 in Ochletree, KS. to William and Clementine Meyer Stifter. She married John A. Scherman June 18th, 1949, settling in Shawnee, KS. She was a wonderful, caring and giving mother to her four children. She enjoyed traveling, gardening playing cards and Bunco with her friends. She is survived by her loving husband John and her 4 children: Ruth Evarts (Norman), Rita Hotchkiss (Bob), Teresa Winke (Bob), John R. Scherman (Sherry) and her brother Ralph Stifter of Rantoul, Kansas. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Emma put her family first. She was always mindful of the feelings of others and set a great example of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived a life full of faith and love, everything about her will be missed and cherished by her family and friends.

Visitation & Mass

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday June 21st at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, Kansas. A Rosary will be recited at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee on Monday June 20th at 6:00 pm with visitation following.

Contributions

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Catholic Community Hospice or to the Sister Servants of Mary.
