Emma D. Wudtke

Emma D. Wudtke, 85, of Lenexa, KS, a woman of strong Christian faith, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 21. Emma was born on May 18, 1935, on a farm near Linton, ND. Emma married Daniel E. Wudtke in 1958, and they remained devoted to each other until his death in 1995. Emma worked in food service for the Shawnee Mission School District for several years before retiring in the late 1980s. Since 1976, Emma was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church and volunteered several years helping to assemble the church newsletter and assisting with funeral luncheons.

A people person, Emma loved to laugh, and her family and friends will remember how she loved to share a good joke. Emma was well-loved by many and will be missed. Special thanks to Forest Creek Memory Care, the Palliative Care Team at Advent Health, and Olathe Health Hospice House for their kindness and support.

Emma is survived by two daughters, Danille Wudtke, Sherri (Morgan) McLain, both of Lenexa, KS; sister, Ruth of Aberdeen, SD; and sister-in-law, Betty, of Dickinson, ND. There was a private commemorative service held at Leavenworth National Cemetery on March 25. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association.
