Eric (Rick) David Yarnell, 66, of Overland Park, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Adent Health Shawnee Mission.

Eric was born August 1, 1952 to Eugene and Berna (Chartier) Yarnell. Eric grew up in Concordia, KS graduating from Concordia High School in 1970. After graduating high school, Eric worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Montana. He attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS where he received a Bachelor's of Science in Construction Engineering in 1974. He was employed by Eby and owned Yarnell Construction.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Yarnell; brothers, Bruce and Douglas Yarnell; niece, Brandy Menzel; uncles, Donald Yarnell and Sid Chartier; and aunt, Melba Chartier. He is survived by his wife, Opal Yarnell; mother, Berna Gable; daughters, Angela (Donald) Zysk, Robynn (Stephen) Combs; son, Jonathan Yarnell; sisters, Jeannette Davenport (Joel), Jayne Hermes (Dale); brother, Patrick Yarnell; an aunt, Anita Chartier; 10 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service

Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2019, at New Haven Church, 8714 Antioch Road, Overland Park, Kansas.  Burial will be at a later date in Clyde, Kansas.
