Ervin "Bill" Russell, 86, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away at home on March 4, 2014, surrounded by his family.

Bill was born on October 11, 1927, in Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up and graduated high school in Leavenworth, Kansas. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Bill married Betty Zoll Russell in August of 1950. They were happily married for 63 years.

Bill opened Russell Florist in 1956. The floral shop is still located in Shawnee and run by the Russell family.

Bill is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Ben; and granddaughters, Shelbi Russell and Kelsie (husband, Travis) Hamburg.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on March 10, 2014, at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, Kansas. A visitation will be before the service from 11:00-1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Mt. Muncie Cemetery in Lansing, Kansas.
