Eurvin US Williams, Sr., 66, Merriam, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
Eurvin was born February 20, 1943 to Roosevelt and Bernice Williams in Moro, Arkansas. Eurvin was a 1962 graduate of Sumner High School. Shortly after graduation, Eurvin married Cheterria Webb on January 25, 1964. Mr. Williams was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Layman, Trustee. He also sang in the Male Chorus and taught Sunday School.
Eurvin is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cheterria Willams; a daughter, Robin Gray and husband David, Lee's Summit, Missouri; three sons: Eurvin Williams, Jr. and wife NiNi, Overland Park, Kansas, Ronald Hodges, Kansas City, Kansas, Steve Moore, Wichita, Kansas; a goddaughter, Tammie Ewell and her husband Frank; eight brothers: Curtis, Newark, New Jersey, Rosezell and wife Judy, Brownsville, California, James and wife Kathryn, Kansas City, Kansas, Andrew and wife Louise, Kansas City, Kansas, Kenneth and wife Theresa, Kansas City, Kansas, Dwayne, Lee's Summit, Missouri, Michael and wife Dorthea, Olathe, Kansas, and Anthony, Kansas City, Kansas; four sisters: Delois Clark, Jackie Ronnau and husband Peter, both of Kansas City, Kansas, Ernestine Lyons, Raymore, Missouri, and Mary Williams, also of Kansas City, Kansas; four grandchildren, Dane and Dorian Gray, Israel Williams and Ron Hodges, Jr.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 9220 W. 50th Terrace, Merriam, Kansas 66203.
Visitation and Funeral Service
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Greater Pentecostal Church, 864 Splitlog Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m., Monday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Eurvin will be laid to rest at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
