Evan A. Knaus, 26, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away on February 1, 2016. He was born on August 11, 1989, in Olathe, Kansas, to Robert and Carolyn Knaus.

Evan is preceded in death by his father, Robert (Bob or Butch) Knaus, grandparents, Robert & Maree Knaus and Laurence Gilbert. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Knaus, sister, Bethany Burnett, brothers, Caleb Knaus and Robert Knaus, grandmother, Sylvia Gilbert, nieces/nephews, Kaili Sitz, Cody Sitz, Chloe Knaus and Kaeden Burnett.

Evan was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He above all was kind, generous and always willing to help anyone in need. His creativity and sense of humor never failed to bring joy to those around him. He was passionate about life-motorcycles, fireworks, wood-working and playing his guitar.

He was a hard-working, dedicated employee in the Parks & Recreation Department for the City of Lenexa. This allowed him the opportunity to pursue his passion for nature, trees and creating wood-working art.

He was full of a quiet strength, always caring and loyal. His smile and laughter will live on with us all.

Services

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at Lenexa Community Center, 13420 Oak St. Lenexa, KS 66215, with a Celebration of Life to immediately follow.
